A historic guesthouse in the very heart of Český Krumlov
Welcome to U Kalíšku - private accommodation in a 500-year-old house on the bank of the Vltava River, only a short walk from the castle and the main square. It combines the atmosphere of a UNESCO-listed medieval town with quiet, homely comfort.
The rooms are cozy, spotless and arranged with respect for the original character of the house. The windows open onto river and castle views, and guests are free to use the small courtyard with a barbecue. A restaurant serving Czech cuisine sits right next door.
With only a couple of rooms, every stay is personal. We are happy to recommend where to eat, which lane not to miss and what is on during the season - from the international music festival to the revolving theatre in the castle gardens.
Facilities and services
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, along with a terrace overlooking the river, a courtyard with a barbecue, heating, linens and towels, a TV and a seating area in the rooms. The house is non-smoking, with a designated outdoor smoking area. Pets are allowed and charges may apply. There is no parking at the house - the nearest city parking is about 500 m away. We speak Czech and English.
Our house and hosts
The house has belonged to the Kalíšek family for generations and we still live in it. Zbyněk Kalíšek and his family welcome guests in person, hand over the keys and help plan the day. We are a family of artists - my husband is a drummer and I paint - and we like nothing more than getting to know the people who stay with us.
